Purchase any type of diary, composition book, etc. You will need a hole puncher and a padlock that is big enough to go through the edge of your diary once you create the holes.  Starting with the cover, punch a hole where you want to put the lock. Then, put a mark through the hole to ensure it is lined up and punch a hole in  the next couple of pages and repeat the process until you get to the back cover.  Then, all you need to do is insert the lock!
