Poni Mulokeli is a hardworking performer for the Oceanside Palace Hotel luaus on Sunset Beach and takes her role very seriously. Known for being an obnoxious one-upper, Poni has a habit of reminding everyone that she’s the most talented dancer on staff—whether they asked or not. Her feisty attitude has earned her more rivals than friends among coworkers. Long conversations with Poni are best avoided, unless you enjoy being corrected.

ROBBIE PETERS
Hollywood Actor / Tourist
Robbie Peters is a Hollywood heartthrob vacationing in Hawaii under the flimsy alias “Harry Spotter,” hoping to avoid paparazzi while recharging between films. Despite his disguise, Robbie’s narcissism and arrogance make him impossible to miss. He expects star treatment everywhere he goes, even in paradise disguised as a social worker. The laid-back staff of the Oceanside Palace Hotel find Robbie exhausting at best.

Robbie Peters is the star of The Fang Saga, a wildly popular film series about werewolves secretly living among humans. He’s currently in Maui preparing to film the next installment, making image, secrecy, and control more important to him than ever.

KIRSTIN WITHERS
Hollywood Actress / Tourist
Kirstin Withers is one of Hollywood’s most beloved young actresses—at least according to her public image. Away from the cameras, she’s demanding, temperamental, and deeply frustrated by her lack of attention while hiding in Maui. Disguised as “Paula Jaxson,” an ordinary American social worker, Kirstin struggles to blend in as an average guest. She craves admiration and isn’t shy about throwing a fit when she doesn’t get it.

Tiki Hutman grew up on Maui’s beaches after moving from Southern California at a young age and now serves as head lifeguard at the Oceanside Palace Hotel’s Sunset Beach. Outgoing and energetic, Tiki loves showing off dance moves and starting the party whenever possible. Unfortunately, some locals worry his social lifestyle is distracting him from his responsibilities. Whether on duty or not, Tiki always draws attention.

Unfortunately, there have been a few close calls when tourists have met riptides on the beach, and it might have been Tiki's fault. Tiki should be very careful while on the lifeguard stand!

LOVEY POWELL
Heiress / Tourist
Lovey Powell is a billionaire heiress who spends her life hopping between luxury destinations, with Maui serving as one of her many “homes.” Though she owns a mansion on the island, Lovey prefers beachfront resorts where she can flaunt her wealth. She believes money solves everything—and that everyone exists to serve her. Subtlety has never been her strength.

Lovey chooses to stay at the Oceanside Palace Hotel, as it is the top spot in Maui for the rich & famous. 
COSTUME SUGGESTIONS: Wear very expensive-looking beach attire with money (fake) bags and money coming out of every pocket. Wear large costume jewelry.

 

JACK MARROW
Deep-Sea Fisherman/ Resident Tourist
Jack Marrow hails from the bayous of southern Louisiana and travels the world chasing legendary deep-sea fishing spots. After running out of cash during a long Maui vacation, Jack took a job hosting fishing excursions to fund his return to the mainland. Calling himself “Captain Jack Marrow,” he’s known for loud pirate impersonations and questionable professionalism. Jack’s rough edges have rubbed more than a few people the wrong way.
COSTUME SUGGESTIONS: Fisherman attire. Optional pirate costume/props. Optional rubber fish as props.

 

COCO BEACHES
College Student / Tourist
Coco Beaches is a seemingly naive college student from the University of Northern Texas who won her Maui trip through a radio trivia contest. While she claims a perfect GPA in biochemistry, Coco’s lack of common sense often raises eyebrows. Academics aside, she’s here to have fun and enjoy every minute of paradise. Thinking ahead has never been her specialty.

Coco is understandably on a tight budget and has calculated every penny for the trip. Coco is one bad decision away from being dead broke.

ANO HALOA
Waiter / Hawaiian Local
Ano Haloa is a nosy waiter at the Oceanside Palace Hotel who appears to be politely attentive—until you realize he’s listening to everything. This meddlesome maître d’ keeps a detailed journal of guest conversations and suspicious behavior. Rumor has it Ano is hoping to sell a juicy scandal to the tabloids for a big payday. Saying too much around Ano is a dangerous mistake.

The Oceanside Palace Hotel is a hotbed of scandals, from blackmails to illegal gambling - you can find it going on underneath the surface. 
COSTUME SUGGESTIONS: Waiter uniform or black shirt/pants with a half apron (bartender’s apron).

 

HOLI MULOKELI
Greeter / Hawaiian Local
Holi Mulokeli is an overly enthusiastic greeter and lei presenter whose energy hits guests the moment they arrive at the resort. While tourists endure her intense welcomes, locals know better than to linger. Holi takes hospitality very seriously—perhaps too seriously. Her uncontainable excitement has startled children, animals, and even seasoned travelers. Holi is also the proud sister of the hotel’s lead hula dancer, Poni Mulokeli.

Holi has the energy of five people and is always willing to lend a hand to a friend. Unfortunately, that hand usually comes with an enthusiastic hug, a lei, and a very loud welcome. Her intentions are pure—even if her volume is not.
COSTUME SUGGESTIONS: Luau performer attire. Flower (real or silk) in hair.  Leis are highly suggested accessories.

 

SOL BOATMAN

Donut Artist / Tourist
Sol Boatman recently won a lawsuit against a fast-food chain after burning his lip on an overheated hamburger, and he’s decided to celebrate by traveling the world—starting with Maui. A recently retired donut artist, Sol is thrilled to finally sleep past dawn and enjoy life without powdered sugar deadlines. With settlement money in hand, Sol has become extremely generous, whether he realizes it or not. He’s currently vacationing with a large group of friends who are enjoying the ride just as much as he is.

Nobody knows what Sol's friends do for a living, but they certainly didn't have a problem getting all the time off work!

SOL BOATMAN'S FRIENDS
Mooching Travel Companions

After Sol won his lawsuit, a surprising number of old friends suddenly reappeared in his life. This group wasted no time rekindling friendships once they heard about Sol’s settlement-funded travel plans. Always nearby, they treat the trip like a shared victory—even though only Sol won the case. Loyalty is strong when someone else is paying.

Lenzi Flash is a relentless freelance photographer from New York City who lives for exclusive shots and scandalous scoops. Known for selling photos to the highest bidder, Lenzi has no qualms about crossing ethical lines to get the perfect image. Celebrities fear her lens almost as much as her threats. In Maui, Lenzi is pretending to be just another tourist—camera always at the ready.

Lenzi has captured and sold some of the worst celebrity takedown photos, such as secretly leaked rehab arrivals, disguised celebrities having public meltdowns, and stars caught loudly denying rumors they absolutely started themselves. If a famous person has ever begged, “Please don’t publish that,” Lenzi has almost certainly published it—at a premium.
COSTUME SUGGESTIONS: Wear obvious tourist attire (you’re undercover), and use a camera (real or fake) as an optional prop.

STAN GRABLE
College Student / Tourist
Stan Grable is the ultimate “Big Man on Campus” at Badams College, juggling life as fraternity president, star quarterback, and student body president. To outsiders, Stan appears charming, confident, and destined for greatness. Unfortunately, his ego shows quickly—especially when dealing with anyone he deems less important. Stan expects admiration everywhere he goes, even on vacation.

The biggest problem with Stan and his friends is their complete intolerance for anything nerdy. The moment they sense someone “nerding out,” the teasing starts—and quickly escalates into full-on bullying. To them, enthusiasm is a weakness, and intelligence is suspicious.

STAN GRABLE'S FRIENDS

Stan Grable’s friends are the ever-present entourage that follows him wherever he goes. Fiercely loyal and deeply impressionable, they echo Stan’s opinions without question. United by their shared disdain for “nerds,” they treat Maui like an extension of campus life. If Stan makes a move, they back it—no questions asked.

ADOLPHI SHARX

Adolphi Sharx is the nerdy head marine biologist at Ocean World, Maui’s local amusement park. Brilliant and socially awkward, Adolphi has an infectious laugh that erupts at the slightest hint of humor. Passionate about marine life, Adolphi can turn any conversation into a science lecture. Enthusiasm often outweighs volume control.

Adolphi is also a member of several animal activist groups. While some might see it as hypocritical to teach walruses tricks for treats, Adolphi believes advocacy works best from the inside. After all, if you can’t beat them, join them—and make sure the dolphins are happy.

ADOLPHI SHARX'S COLLEAGUES 
Marine Biologist / Hawaiian Residents
Adolphi Sharx leads a close-knit team of marine biologists at Ocean World who share a deep love of sea life and scientific debate. This group spends their days studying, protecting, and obsessing over ocean creatures. Social skills vary widely, but enthusiasm never does. Together, they form a formidable—and extremely nerdy—unit.
COSTUME SUGGESTIONS: Conservative/nerdy poolside attire with a lab coat. Glasses with a taped bridge as an optional prop. Optional to create and wear an ‘Ocean World’ name badge.

 

MAKA NANI
Luau Dancer / Hawaiian Local
Maka Nani is a stunning and charismatic luau dancer who lights up every performance with her energy and grace. Unfortunately, Maka also suffers from narcolepsy and can fall asleep without warning. These episodes have occurred at the worst possible moments—even mid-dance. Despite this, Maka remains beloved for her talent and unpredictability.

Many people believe Maka may be jealous of the attention Poni gets as the head luau dancer. But would Maka really stoop low enough to take Poni out? Let’s hope not.

MIDAS KING
Entrepreneur / Tourist
Midas King believes there’s nothing he can’t accomplish—and he’s tried nearly everything. From record labels to racetracks, Midas jumps headfirst into new ventures with unstoppable confidence. Wealth seems to follow him wherever he goes, though focus does not. Oddly enough, Midas dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian someday, despite no evidence supporting this ambition.
COSTUME SUGGESTIONS: Rich-looking and trendy beach attire. Fake money pouring out of every pocket, etc. as optional props.

 

DANGER STORM
Reality Television Star / Tourist
Danger Storm thrives on chaos, competition, and questionable decision-making. Famous for outrageous stunts and reckless behavior on reality television, Danger never backs down from a challenge. Politeness is optional, but winning is mandatory. In Maui, Danger is always on the lookout for the next adrenaline rush—or camera-worthy moment.

Danger is extremely active on social media, so if you're lounging at the pool, or taking a bite of cantaloupe during breakfast at the resort's cafe - chances are you will be in the background of one of Danger's livestreams. 
COSTUME SUGGESTIONS: Wear very casual beach attire, with optional bandages for fake injuries and a bag of plastic insects/snakes as a prop.

 

WADEN PHILSON
NFL Head Coach / Tourist
Waden Philson is the obnoxious head coach of the Dallas Ranchers professional football team. Accustomed to barking orders and being obeyed, Waden brings his boorish, overly bossy attitude to every social setting. He treats casual conversations like locker room briefings and expects everyone to fall in line. Unless the topic is football—or someone needs to be yelled at—it’s best to steer clear.

Waden is visiting the resort after a disastrous football season that left fans calling for his firing and demanding the team be sold. With his career under heavy scrutiny, Waden came to Maui in desperate need of quiet time—though achieving silence has never been his strength.

LELANI LAKA
Ukulele Player / Hawaiian Local
Lelani Laka is the introverted ukulele player for the Oceanside Palace Hotel. Soft-spoken and calm, she’s the ideal person to talk to if you need someone to listen without judgment. Lelani offers a comforting presence, even if she rarely responds with much more than a nod or a gentle smile. Meaningful conversation isn’t her specialty—but quiet understanding is.

Lelani has recently been upset at all of the staff squabbles in the employee locker room and breakroom. Lelani thrives on a routine and calm - which has been at odds while at work lately.

SONNY FISHWELL
Dolphin Trainer / Hawaiian Resident
Sonny Fishwell is the fun-loving dolphin trainer at Ocean World, Maui’s local theme park. If you want to know anything about dolphins, Sonny is the undisputed expert and will happily tell you—at length. The constant smile and enthusiastic friendliness can be a bit much, but those closest to Sonny insist it’s genuine. Beneath the high energy and ocean facts, Sonny truly has good intentions.

Sonny has a great working relationship with all of the marine biologists at the park and trusts their expertise completely. If a scientist says something is true, Sonny believes it without question.

CRUZ STASHUNS
Executive Chef / Hawaiian Resident
Cruz Stashuns is the executive seafood chef at The Buttered Crab, the Oceanside Palace Hotel’s fine-dining restaurant. Renowned for bold flavors and impressive plating, Cruz has earned praise from diners and criticism from coworkers. Despite culinary talent, Cruz is famously clumsy, turning even simple tasks into potential hazards. Flying utensils, spilled sauces, and narrowly avoided disasters are common in the kitchen. Guests adore the food—but staff know better than to stand too close to this bumbling crab boiler.
COSTUME SUGGESTIONS: Chef’s attire. Fake crabs, lobsters, etc. as optional props.

DAVID DELTA
Retired Commercial Airline Pilot / Tourist
David Delta relished every minute of his career flying travelers to their dream vacation destinations, but now it’s his turn to enjoy the life of luxury!  David is a retired airline pilot who is currently traveling around the world with his beautiful, fun-loving wife Lucy.  No stranger to naps, this cookie-hoarding vacationer spews out clichés as if they’re going out of style!

David is a quirky fellow who absolutely lives for local tours and excursions. Determined to make the most of the vacation he’s more than earned, David treats every outing like a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
COSTUME SUGGESTIONS: Hawaiian shirt, Bermuda shorts, and black socks with sandals.   Obvious tourist items such as a map, sunscreen, camera, etc.

 

LUCY DELTA
Community Volunteer / Tourist
Lucy Delta is a warm-hearted community volunteer who believes kindness can fix just about anything. While traveling with her retired husband, Lucy goes out of her way to help anyone in need. However, punctuality matters deeply to her—and lateness brings out a surprisingly fierce side. Sweetness has limits.

A few resort staff members have seen Lucy’s alter ego emerge when she doesn’t get her way. It isn’t pretty. It isn’t kind. It’s downright scary.
COSTUME SUGGESTIONS: Wear beach or poolside attire. Carry obvious tourist items such as a map, sunscreen, camera, etc.

 

KAHOLO HALE, III
Concierge / Hawaiian  Local
Kaholo Hale, III is the haughty hotel concierge at the Oceanside Palace Hotel.  Kaholo is intolerant of nonsense in any fashion and will be the first to tell you when you veer outside of the lines of proper social etiquette.  Notorious for not being helpful to others, Kaholo is a complicated person to deal with on a routine basis and is not highly respected by his colleagues at the hotel.

The rumor is that someone has been removing pamphlets that promote local tour businesses from the hotel lobby and the concierge's desk. Could it be Kaholo?  Only time will tell.

KAI KAHUA
Hula Dancer / Hawaiian Local
Kai Kahua is the bubbly hula dancer at the Oceanside Palace Hotel.  Kai and her fellow luau performers are notorious for pulling juvenile pranks on their colleagues at the hotel.  Hotel management is on their last waning thread of patience with Kai and her friends.  Kai knows her time is limited as an employee of the hotel, so she might ‘go for broke’ with one last prank on her way out!

Kai and her friends stick together and rarely mingle with the other luau performers. Not everyone appreciates their idea of fun—and they’re perfectly fine with that.

LUAU PERFORMERS
Kai Kahua's Friends, Colleagues/ Hawaiian Locals
Kai Kahua’s friends are a spirited group of luau performers who thrive on laughter and mischief. United by their love of pranks, they push boundaries whenever possible. Management has reached its breaking point with this playful crew. Still, they seem determined to have fun until the very end.

Kai and her friends stick together and rarely mingle with the other luau performers. Not everyone appreciates their idea of fun—and they’re perfectly fine with that.
